Songling Wang is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a member of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, a professor and a chief physician. Dr. Wang is the Vice President of Capital Medical University, the Vice President of the Chinese Stomatological Association, the Vice President of the Beijing Medical Association, and the Director of the Beijing Laboratory of Oral Health. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Current Medicine, Medical Education Management and Stomatology Today and the Associate Editor-in-Chief of Oral Diseases and JOR. He has published 249 papers, of which 167 are published in English, with Dr. Wang as the main author. He has won 2 National Science and Technology Progress Awards (second prize) in 2003 and 2010, the William J. Gies Award, the Wu Jieping Medical Innovation Award, the Zhongyuan Union Life Medical Award – Achievement Award, the He Liang He Li Science and Technology Progress Award, and a Fellowship ad hominem from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is mainly engaged in research on salivary glands and tooth regeneration and discovered nitrate transport channels on human cell membranes and the important protective effect of nitrate on the human body. On this basis, a new nitrate-based drug has been developed. Dr. Wang has also elucidated a new mechanism of tooth development and developed new drugs for dental pulp stem cells, successfully achieving biological tooth regeneration.
