Longquan Shao Introduction
Longquan Shao is a professor, a chief physician, a doctoral supervisor, and a postdoctoral cosupervisor. Dr. Shao was selected as a candidate for the National Hundred,Thousand and Ten Thousand Talents Project, honored as one of the “Young and Middle-Aged Experts Nationally  Acknowledged for Their Outstanding Achievements”, won a special government allowance by the State Council of PRC, was a provincial-level talent trained through the “Thousand, Hundred and Ten Project” of Guangdong Higher Education Institutions, a visiting scholar at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, and an instructor for the “Young Scientist Supporting Project” in Guangzhou, is an expert covered in the national-level scientific and technological expert database, and was a highly cited Chinese scholar in Elsevier in 2020 and a highly cited scholar in Southern Medical University in 2020. He works as the Secretary-General of the National Professional Skill Appraisal Committee for the Oral Prosthesis Makers of the National Health Commission, the Vice Director of the Stomatology Scientific Research Management Branch of the Chinese Stomatological Association, and a Standing Member of the Prosthodontics Professional Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association, as well as an evaluation expert for the National Science and Technology Award, for national key special projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, for the Innovative Talent Promotion Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and for the talent plan of the Ministry of Education.

Dr. Shao is the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Prevention and Treatment for Stomatological Diseases and the Associate Editor of Chinese Journal of Prosthodontics and BMC Pharmacol Toxico.

Dr. Shao has published more than 270 academic papers, including 100 SCI papers as the first or corresponding author in Adv Funct Mater (IF=18.808), ACS Nano (IF=15.881), Adv Drug Deliver Rev (IF=15.470), Bioact Mater (IF =14.593), Small (IF=13.281), Chem Eng J (IF=13.273), J Hazard Mater (IF=10.588) and J Nanobiotechnol (IF=10.435), with a total IF of 512.494, 1 ESI hot paper and 2 highly cited papers. Among them, a single paper has 1063 citations. He has presided over 1 “13th Five-Year Plan” National Key Special Project, 6 National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, and more than 10 provincial and ministerial projects. He has edited 8 monographs as an editor-in-chief, 4 monographs as an associate editor, 1 monograph as a master translator and 1 monograph as a deputy translator and constructed 1 school-level excellent course. He has won 1 Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (second prize), 1 Science and Technology Innovation Award of the Chinese Association of Plastics and Aesthetics, and 1 Guangdong Medical Science and Technology Award (second prize). He has drafted 2 enterprise standards and obtained 8 national invention patents and 9 utility model patents.

As Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Shao has considerable leadership, editorial, and publishing experience. He has over 10 years of experience in journal editing and publishing. The main responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief are leading and supervising the editorial work of the journal and implementing editorial and publishing policies. Further, the Editor-in-Chief leads the journal’s topic selection plan, formatting, and submission and publishing plans, organizing social forces and journal personnel to implement them. The Editor-in-Chief finalizes and edits important manuscripts, ensures the quality of manuscripts, systematically collects and studies academic trends and editorial publishing information related to the disciplines involved in the journal, proposes suggestions or innovative plans that have guiding significance for editorial work, continuously improves the quality of the journal, increases the number of publications, and enhances the social and economic benefits of running the journal. The primary goals of the lead editor are to ensure the quality of editing work, promote the professional skills of editorial staff, and strengthen professional ethics education.
