Shuguang Zeng is a Doctor of Medicine, a chief physician, a professor, a doctoral supervisor, an expert in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Stomatological Hospital affiliated with Southern Medical University, a visiting scholar at the University of Siena, Italy, the Director of the Editorial Department and the Executive Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Prevention and Treatment for Stomatological Diseases.
Dr. Zeng concurrently serves as a Standing Member of the Guangdong Society of Maxillofacial Head and Neck Surgery, a Standing Member of the Dental Implant Society of the Guangdong Clinical Medical Association, the Director of the Guangdong Stomatological Association, the Standing Director of the Guangdong Editorial Society of Science and Technology, and the Letter Review Expert of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Degree Center of the Ministry of Education. He specializes in minimally invasive alveolar surgery, artificial dental implant restoration and the treatment of periodontal disease, oral and maxillofacial tumors, and maxillofacial trauma. He has presided over more than 10 Provincial Natural Science Foundation projects, published more than 80 academic papers in China and abroad, obtained 4 patents, and won 1 Guangdong Science and Technology Award (third prize). Dr. Zeng’s research focuses on oral and maxillofacial tissue engineering. He has recruited and mentored 15 graduate students and received the Guangdong Good Doctor award.
He has over 10 years of experience in journal editing and publishing, and his main responsibilities include: 1. Under the leadership of the Editor-in-Chief, manage the daily work of the journal’s editorial and publishing department and assist editors in implementing editorial and publishing policies (including editorial and publishing ethics). 2. Organize manuscripts according to journal guidelines, strictly implement the double-blind peer review system and the three-review system and three rounds of proofreading, and be responsible for timely publication, design and typesetting, printing, and online publishing (priority publishing) of the journal. 3. Supervise the editing, publishing, and distribution processes, as well as the management and quality control of online priority publishing. 4. Understand and master the pricing, logistics, and feedback from readers and authors of the journal, serve readers and authors well, and improve social benefits. 5. Assume responsibility for the professional learning and assessment of personnel in the editorial and publishing department, and provide opinions on promotions, incentives, reprimands, training, and other aspects. 6. Educate young editors and manage the editorial board. 7. Collect opinions from readers, authors, and various sectors of society on the journal, and handle various complaints during the editing, publishing, and distribution processes.
